Skies over ATTO-Campina SKYCAM

New SKYCAM site in the Amazon Rainforest

Earlier June 2022, researchers from SALSA, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Sao Paulo, deployed a sky imager in the central Amazon rainforest of Brazil, about 4-km from the Amazon Tall Tower Observatory (https://www.attoproject.org).
This deployment is part of the SKYCAM project, which aims to establish a global network of ground-based sky imagers for the study and characterization of clouds.

7th Sentinel 3 Validation Meeting, October 18th - 23th 2022, at the ESA/ESRIN, Frascati, Italy.

Eric Vermote gave an oral presentation entitled “Evaluation of the Sentinel 3 Synergy Surface Reflectance Product” and participated to the discussions toward the improvement of the Sentinel 3 Synergy reflectance product. This product is a good candidate to ensure continuity in land observations after the decommissioning of Terra MODIS.

6th International Symposium - Recent Advances in Quantitative Remote Sensing (RAQRS)- September 19th-23th, 2022, Torrent (Valencia), Spain

Eric Vermote gave a presentation entitled “A complete package for ground based validation of surface reflectance”, and chaired the session on Land Surface Radiation and Inversion Modelling, Multispectral and Hyperspectral Remote Sensing and Imaging Spectroscopy, Multiangular and Multitemporal Measurement.
